Almost Autumn

I feel like fall is just around the bend. Which leads me to hum 'Just Around the River Bend' from Pocahontas in my head. It's sunny out today, but before we know it, autumn will be here. It's already mid August! I can't believe that September is just two weeks away. I was able to tan at my pool after work, but soon that's not going to be an option. As much as I love summer, I am looking forward to fall as well. There are great flavors. Apples, cinnamon, pumpkin, nutmeg. The colors are fabulous, and the air is crisp and clean. You can start wearing jackets again, and break out the scarves. And that means it's almost time for Halloween! It's my second favorite holiday, and I'm looking forward to decorating our apartment for the holiday.

That also is the month that Robert and I will fly to New Mexico. I'm really looking forward to that vacation. It'll be nice to get out of our Portland routine, nice to be off work, see a new place, meet his parents, meet some more of his friends and see where he grew up. We're going to go see the white sands, go to San Francisco and see the Georgia O'Keefe museum, go to Roswell/Area 51 (ahhh, so excited!), see his college, go to his favorite restaurants, go to the Holocaust museum, go to the aquarium and maybe the zoo, and then hike the Sandea mountains. We'll be busy there, especially considering we'll be staying with his parentals so it'll be full of visiting. Can't it be September already?
