5 Love Languages

After seeing a post on my sister's blog (click here to read), I decided that I wanted to take the '5 Love Languages' test as well. It's one of those pseudo-scientific online tests, so of course I'm all about it. It judges how you show love to others and how you would like others to show love to you. From off the site, the description is:

The Love Language Profile for Singles will give you a thorough analysis of your emotional communication preference. It will single out your primary love language, what it means, and how you can use it to connect with those closest to you and effectively enhance the relationships in your life.

The highest score that you could have gotten in one area is 12. The results that I got were:

Quality Time: 9
Physical Touch: 7
Receiving Gifts: 7
Words of Affirmation: 6
Acts of Service: 1

The results that my sister got were:
Quality Time: 10
Physical Touch: 9
Words of Affirmation: 6
Receiving Gifts: 3
Acts of Service: 2

My results only really surprised me in one area. Quality time is the most important thing to me in a relationship. If someone cares for me, I know they are going to want to spend time with me and I will want to spend time with them.
The physical touch one is the same, and then for 'receiving gifts' I took that to include cards. I love getting cards, so I included that with presents. That's important to me. The only one that surprised me was the last one, which is acts of service. When I love someone I do things for them. It's important to me to keep things clean, have a nice space, do small things for the other person. I do have a really hard time letting people do other things for me, though. It was interesting because my sister said the same thing. That must have to do with how we were raised. I don't like relying on other people for things and I have a hard time letting people help me with acts of service. I guess that is something that I will have to work on.
Robert and me moving in together is definitely going to show how we both show affection. It's an exciting time, beginning that time together!

  1. I was hoping that you'd write a blog post about this too! How interesting that we both feel the same way about the acts of service! At least we're good at doing things for other people though. haha.
